Can’t find your way around Hocking Hills?

Hocking Hills, Ohio iPhone App is here! No cell phone service needed!

Hocking Hills, Ohio App is designed as a tool for tourists to find the local State Parks, Hiking Trails, and Businesses in the area.

All local State Park Hiking Trails are G.P.S. tracked and on the map! So, by using your phones G.P.S. you can locate and view your location on the Trails. The map used in the App is a Street map. You can select “View Map” for each business and State Park to see its location. Each business is marked/drop pinned on the map with a short description. By using your phones G.P.S. you can see how to get to each business or park. No cell/data service is needed for this feature.

You can go to the categories menu to select State Parks, Lodging, Restaurants, Shopping, Attractions, Canoeing, Golf, Horseback Riding, Museums of Art, Service Stations/fuel, and Emergency Services. Businesses in each category have phone number, address, short description, and website address which can be selected.

You will need cell/data service to call a business or go to their website.

All Hocking Hills, Ohio Hiking Trails are on the App!

Our attendees tell us that one of the most valuable aspects of our BlackBerry® conferences is the networking they do with other BlackBerry platform customers and partners. At BlackBerry World™ 2011, you’ll find many informal opportunities to network with your fellow attendees – over breakfast or lunch, while you’re waiting for a breakout session to begin, on the shuttle buses between hotels, or while you’re grabbing a coffee at the Dev Lounge. You’ll also be able to participate in a few planned activities designed to help you connect with our sponsor partners and your peers.

The first official event of the conference is the BlackBerry World Welcome Reception, held the evening of Monday, May 2nd in the Solutions Showcase. This event is the kick-off for the week, and is your first chance to see what our sponsors have been working on all year. You can grab some food and refreshments and begin to explore all the demos and solutions brought to you by BlackBerry partners from around the world. The Welcome Reception is one of my favorite events of the conference – the buzz in the air is so energizing and there’s a sense of anticipation as everyone begins to come together. It’s a great way to start things off!

Then, after the first day of sessions is over, you won’t want to miss the BlackBerry World Party, held Tuesday, May 3rd from 7:00-11:00pm. This year, for the first time, we’re taking the party offsite to Universal Studios Florida. As a ride junkie, I’m super excited about the chance to hit the roller coasters! If thrills aren’t your thing, we’re also lining up some great musical performances to entertain you while you mix and mingle over food and drink with your fellow attendees. RIM Welcomes tinyHippos!

Today we are pleased to announce that tinyHippos has joined Research In Motion (RIM). We’re excited that the tinyHippos team is joining the BlackBerry Developer team and bringing their expertise in cross-platform emulation environments to the BlackBerry platform.

tinyHippos are the makers of a mobile environment emulator called Ripple and have extensive experience in web and mobile widget/web development. If you are not already familiar with them you can find out more about tinyHippos at http://tinyhippos.com/.

We have been integrating support for web technologies like HTML5 and BlackBerry WebWorks into our developer platform, and working to continually deliver enhanced tools and frameworks to our developer community. GarageBand for iPad: Music Talent Not Required

Houston Chronicle technology columnist Dwight Silverman, a non-musician who “can only intermittently carry a tune,” describes how he was able to release his inner Clapton using the Smart Guitars and stomp box effects included in GarageBand for iPad. He writes, “Even if you can’t play a note, GarageBand for iPad will have you playing and even composing music soon after you first fire it up. It’s an astonishing piece of software, easily the best application I’ve seen so far this year.”
